What’s Growing in Your Mind — Flowers or Weeds?

The mind is a lot like a garden. Every thought begins as a tiny seed. At first, those seeds seem small and unimportant. But when we return to the same thoughts again and again, we water them. And over time, those seeds grow.
Some sprout and blossom into flowers — beliefs that encourage us and help us thrive. Others grow into incessant weeds — negative thoughts that slowly choke the blooms trying to grow.
Just like a real garden, our minds need tending. A good gardener walks through the garden regularly, noticing what’s growing. They pull out weeds before they spread and make space for healthy plants to flourish.
This is one reason journaling is so powerful. Writing things down helps us step back and see what’s growing in our minds. Sometimes we notice a thought that doesn’t serve us — a weed that somehow took root. And when we pull it out, we can plant something better in its place.
Because if we want a beautiful garden in our minds, we have to choose what we plant there.
